 In The Lonely Bull

The stock market has been correcting for the past 2-3 months. How will it end? Will it be with a dramatic sell-off or just fizzle out as confidence returns?  It does not look like the dramatic is probable. There have been several potential catalysts during this period and the bang just did not happen. Instead, there have been rolling declines in various sectors, groups, and styles. It first started with small and mid-cap issues. Large capitalization companies were not far behind, then finally the mega-cap growth issues got hit.

There was a lot of back and forth among various groups, getting hit, then recovering somewhat. Once the mega-cap stock market leaders came under selling pressure, the reassessment process was nearly complete. So, this correction has been messy but not dramatic. The Bull has recently written that this process should soon conclude. It appears that may already have happened. Did you hear the whimper? Earnings and the reaction to them will soon tell us a lot. Stay steady my friends.
