Hurry up and Wait

Soldiers understand this sentiment well. Movements have urgency interspersed with long periods of waiting.  Today’s stock market exhibits the same characteristics.  A particular piece of news or information may precipitate quick, emphatic moves, then nothing – for extended periods of time.

We are in one of these waiting periods in anticipation of signs of future Federal Reserve Open Market Committee actions.

The bottom-line is, will the “Fed” raise rates soon or continue to defer.  In the meantime, here we stand.  The Federal Reserve has the power.  Riverplace Capital believes that higher rates are overdue, but waiting is frustrating.  However, it’s time to be a big bull and stay steady.
