Looking For a Bottom

By Peter Bower

After the initial fall in this stock market correction, we have made a retest and are now bumping along near the recent bottom.

The question keeps arising, “are we there yet?”

The signal that predicted markets were in for a set-back was that money began flowing out of the stock market in late June. An indication that this process is reversing would be if money flows turned positive. That has not yet happened.

Nevertheless, we believe we are getting close. If this market can hold recent lows, then we are creating the conditions for recovery. A little more time is what will be needed. We are watching every move and trying to separate noise from real and important signals.

In the meantime, stay steady my friends.
