Spring also Rises

Ten weeks out from zero (the beginning of the year) and the market is up about 1½ %.  Seems like a lot of noise just to get this far.  It’s more like marking time than making time.  However, a lot of good has been happening.  The economy has continued to advance in spite of one of the worst winters we have had in years.  Geopolitical events like the Ukrainian turmoil barely graze investors’ consciousness.  Earnings continue to grow and we have a new Federal Reserve Chairwoman; no great shakes.

So what happens when spring arrives?  We believe an explosion of life and higher stock market prices.  This mostly sideways action is building up energy and cash reserves.  It all has to go somewhere and our bet is that it will lead to another rush to buy more stocks.  We can’t wait!
