Riverplace Capital, headquartered in Jacksonville, FL
Past, Present and Future
Peter Bower, an entrepreneur, and financial expert, founded the firm based in Jacksonville, FL, in 1998. The firm’s origins were established initially with the purchase of the assets of Sears Thompson, which Chuck Thompson and Andy Sears originally formed. These advisory assets were moved to the newly registered Riverplace Capital Management, Inc., and the broker-dealer assets remained in the original corporate entity. This separation allows Riverplace Capital to focus exclusively on investment management without conflicts that could arise from both originating and handling transactions.
Mr. Bower started his career at Merrill Lynch where he worked for 20 years. His strengths as an investor, entrepreneur, financier, and financial manager have laid a strong foundation. Under his leadership, he has organized a financial team with combined experience totaling more than 100 years. Together they have great market insights into the market, its movements, and trends in the industry. In total, they have over 100 years of experience.
The Future of Riverplace Capital Management
Vice Presidents Mark Ross and Scott Wohlers have been tapped to lead the firm into the future. Mark, a Merrill Lynch alum, has 24 years of financial experience and broad local experience in real estate. Scott is a former banker, most recently with Regions Bank (San Marco, Jacksonville). Both bring a variety of abilities, financial expertise, and contacts to benefit the firm’s clients.
