Peter E. Bower

Founder, Executive Chairman and Chief Investment Officer

Peter Bower has more than 40 years investment experience and co-founded Riverplace Capital Management in 1998.

Well-versed in many aspects of the investment world, he oversees the Investment Management Committee and provides strategic guidance for all of the firm’s activities, with a focus on investment management models, investment process, institutional portfolio management and analysis. An experienced investor, entrepreneur, financier, and financial manager, Mr. Bower also manages Riverplace Analytics, LLC, a financing arm for private opportunities, and is sponsor of the family of Piranha Funds. These entities serve a variety of clients from high net worth individuals to private and public institutions.

Mr. Bower began his career with Merrill Lynch as a Financial Consultant,  advancing to Vice President and working there for over 18 years. Prior to forming Riverplace Capital, Mr. Bower joined St. Johns Investment Management Co., Inc. as a Principal & Senior Vice President. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantitative Systems and a master’s degree in Business Administration. He has held NASD Series 7 & 63 Registered Representatives and Series 8 General Securities Sales Supervisor licenses.

He previously served on the Executive Committee of The Board of Directors for The Museum of Contemporary Art-Jacksonville and The Florida Ballet, and was a mayoral appointee to the Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA) Board.

Mark W. Ross

Wealth Management & Family Office Services

Mark Ross oversees Wealth Management & Family Office services for Riverplace Capital.  In this role, he works with high net-worth individuals to provide tailored services to meet their individual needs.  He is a member of the Investment Committee and focuses on clients, their portfolio management and financial planning.

With more than 25 years in the financial services industry, began his career with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and attained the Certified Financial Manager designation.  He previously served on the advisory board for Life Management Advisors, providing family office services for high net worth individuals.  Mark has extensive experience in real estate investments and currently maintains his NMLS Mortgage License.

Mr. Ross earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Florida Southern College.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Delta Academy, a Charter School for at-risk children. He also served on the Board of Directors for Dreams Come True and has been very active with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program in Jacksonville.

Mark has held NASD Series 7, 63, 65 and Health, Life, and Variable Annuity Insurance Licenses.

Scott Wohlers

Investment Services

Scott Wohlers is responsible for client portfolio management as well oversight of business development and marketing for the firm.  He has more than ten years experience in the financial services industry and is a member of the Riverplace Capital Management Investment Committee.

Scott began his career in the financial services industry with Regions Bank, where he received several awards of distinction for performance and leadership. Scott hosts weekly stock market updates live on Thursday afternoons. They are posted on YouTube and can be viewed here.

Active in the north Florida community, Scott recently served as the President of the San Marco Merchants Association, and has served on their board of directors for more than eight years.  He is also a member of The Executive Committe and Treasurer of the Board of Directors for Jacksonville Speech and Hearing Center.

Mr. Wohlers earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Union University.  He has held NASD Series 65, Health, Life, and Variable Insurance Licenses.

Terri C. Kimball

Executive Vice President, Controller

Ms. Kimball has more than 30 years investment experience and has held NASD series 7 & 63 Registered Representative licenses. Her financial industry experience includes working with E.F. Hutton & Co., Douglas Capital Management, Inc. and Prudential Securities, Inc.

In her role as Executive Vice President and Controller, she is head of finance, responsible for research and supports portfolio management.

Terri earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing at the University of Florida.

Karen A. Breakell, MBA, APR

Vice President, Marketing and Business Development

Ms. Breakell is an accredited public relations professional with 39 years communications and marketing experience. As Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, she oversees strategy for client communication and corporate brand management.

Ms. Breakell earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Florida State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Central Florida.

Involved in the North Florida community, she has served on several boards to include The Jacksonville Symphony, The Florida Ballet, The Museum of Contemporary Art-Jacksonville, The Schultz Center for Teaching and Leadership, and Fashion Group International of North Florida.

Anny Campos, MBA

Director of Operations and Compliance

Anny Campos has 5 years of investment experience. Most recently, she worked for BBVA Investments where she supported 5 Financial Consultants in sales, regulatory and firm compliance, and brokerage operations. As Director of Operations and Compliance, she oversees all compliance responsibilities for Riverplace Capital.

Anny earned her Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration from the University of North Florida. She holds all appropriate licenses, including the Series 7 and Series 66.

Anny previously served on the BBVA Jacksonville Volunteer Chapter as Event Coordinator and Vice President where she enjoyed participating in and contributing to the local community through financial education workshops and other events. She enjoys running, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her fiance Mike and family.

Robert R. Willett, Jr.

Director of Information Technology

Bob has more than 20 years investment experience and has held an NASD series & Registered Representative license. As Director of Information Technology, his responsibilities include network administration, back-office support, and securities trading. He has been with Riverplace Capital more than 20 years and was one of the first professionals hired.

Prior to joining Riverplace Capital, Mr. Willett served as an electrician for the U.S. Navy for 20 years and then retired with an honorable discharge. While serving in the military, he earned an Associate of Arts degree in Applied Science from the University of the State of New York Regents College, and successfully completed the US Navy Nuclear Power Program.

He and his wife enjoy hiking and traveling.

Maleia Spresser

Director of Technology & Trading

As Director of Technology & Trading, some of Maleia’s responsibilities include network administration, internal reporting, and executing trades. She has previous experience at an RIA firm as a Portfolio Analyst, supporting the trading team. There her roles included market research, account analysis, trading, and reconciliation of account portfolios.

Maleia is a graduate of Florida Southern College and majored in Economics & Finance and Business Administration.

Maleia’s passion for investing came at a young age, she grew up in a household whose televisions were always tuned into CNBC. She opened a ROTH IRA and started investing on her own, the week she turned 18. She is currently studying for her Series 65 License and aspires to be a Certified Financial Planner.

In her free time Maleia enjoys volunteering around her community.  She was an active volunteer at Polk Pace Center for Girls and Central Florida United Way’s Young Leader Society.
