Peter E. Bower
President & CEO, Co-Founder
Peter Bower has more than 40 years investment experience and co-founded Riverplace Capital Management in 1998. Well-versed in many aspects of the investment world, he oversees the Investment Management Committee and provides strategic guidance for all of the firm’s activities, with a focus on investment management models, investment process, institutional portfolio management and analysis. An experienced investor, entrepreneur, financier, and financial manager, Mr. Bower also manages RiverPlace Analytics, LLC, a financing arm for private opportunities, and is sponsor of the family of Piranha Funds. These entities serve a variety of clients from high net worth individuals to private and public institutions.
Mr. Bower began his career with Merrill Lynch as a Financial Consultant, advancing to Vice President and working there for over 18 years. Prior to forming the Riverplace Capital, Mr. Bower joined St. Johns Investment Management Co., Inc. as a Principal & Senior Vice President. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantitative Systems and a master’s degree in Business Administration. He has held NASD Series 7 & 63 Registered Representatives and Series 8 General Securities Sales Supervisor licenses.
Invested in the community, he has served in a variety of volunteer leadership positions including as Treasurer of MOCA-Jacksonville and as a mayoral appointee to the Jacksonville Electric Authority. He presently serves on the Board of Directors for The Florida Ballet.
Terri C. Kimball
Executive Vice President, Controller
Ms. Kimball has over 30 years investment experience and is head of finance, operations and compliance. In addition to these duties she supports portfolio management, is a member of the Investment Committee and is responsible for research. Her financial industry experience includes working with E. F. Hutton & Co., Douglas Capital Management, Inc. and Prudential Securities, Inc.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a major in marketing at the University of Florida and has held NASD Series 7 & 63 Registered Representative’s licenses.
Mark W. Ross
Vice President & Portfolio Manager
Mark Ross has more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is a member of the Investment Committee and focuses on clients, their portfolio management and financial planning. He began his career with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and attained the Certified Financial Manager designation. Mark has also served as an advisor on the advisory board for Life Management Advisors, providing family office services for high net worth individuals. Mark has extensive experience in real estate investments and currently maintains his NMLS Mortgage License.
Mr. Ross earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Florida Southern College. He has held NASD Series 7, 63, 65 and Health, Life, and Variable Annuity Insurance Licenses.
Scott Wohlers has more than five years’ experience in the financial services industry. He is also a member of the Investment Committee. Scott began his career in the financial services industry with Regions Bank and received several distinctions for performance and leadership. He currently serves on the San Marco Merchants Association’s board and has served for over three years. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership from Union University. Mr. Wohlers has held NASD Series 65, Health, Life, and Variable Insurance Licenses.
Robert R. Willett, Jr.
Director of Information Technology
Bob Willett is Director of Information Technology for Riverplace Capital. His responsibilities include network administration, back office support and securities trading. He has been with Riverplace Capital more than 20 years and was one of the first professionals hired.
Prior to joining Riverplace Capital, Mr. Willett served as an electrician for the U.S. Navy for 20 years and then retired with an honorable discharge. While serving in the military, he earned an Associate of Arts degree in Applied Science from University of the State of New York State Regents College, and successfully completed the U.S. Navy Nuclear Power Program.
Mr. Willet has more than 20 years investment experience and has held a NASD Series 7 Registered Representative’s license. He and his wife enjoy hiking and traveling.
Karen A. Bower, MBA, APR
Vice President, Marketing and Business Development
Mrs. Bower is an accredited public relations professional with 35 years communications and marketing experience. She has a strong background in regulated industries including healthcare, power generation and distribution, and financial services.
She oversees strategy for client communication, business development and marketing.
Mrs. Bower earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Public Relations from Florida State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.
She is involved in the North Florida community, supporting MOCA-Jacksonville and Gateway Community Services, Inc. and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra and Immediate Past Chair of the Schultz Center for Teaching and Leadership.
