It’s a Sad State of Affairs

By Peter Bower

We all know that we are living in precarious times when extremists can strike at any time and any place.  It’s not that our security officials are not doing a heroic job to keep us safe; it’s just impossible to provide absolute security.  We all know that and have to live with it.  The psychological impact on markets will always be there, but will pass relatively soon.

As a society, we all have to adjust to these new risks; we have no option.  Day to day life needs to go on and it will.  A few other countries, like Israel, have been living with much more uncertainty, but have adjusted and have robust economies and public life.

Asset values are ultimately determined by the returns they produce, that has not changed.  Stay steady, my friends.
