Yes, cash is slipping out of the market. It is not being coy anymore. No telling where it’s going, possibly just looking for a new plan.

And that is the trick, because there is no better bus. Although interest rates are rising, they are far from being attractive. Asia has its own issues, Europe is only just getting past its Greek crisis and South America is sliding into recession.

How long before that same money finding fifty ways to leave today, returns? Probably not long; this has happened several times over the past few years.

It returns because U.S. equity assets are not over-priced, business conditions here remain good, dividend returns are excellent and potential for appreciation undoubted. However, until we see improvements in fund flows, we are being cautious. We have liquidated a few positions that we believe can be improved upon, but are in no hurry to add back. We expect further volatility, but not a major break. Stay steady, my friends.
