Tech Wreck

Some corrections are everything, everywhere, all at once. This one is mostly a tech wreck. Money leaving this area moves to another. Not everything, and not all at once. Tech is also where most of the recent stock market profits have been generated. So, a bout of profit-taking is to be expected. This has happened many times before. Presently, this correction is much closer to the end than the beginning!

As money leaves technology names, it is moving into broader categories. Industrial, healthcare, and some financial names are benefiting. The broad indices prove the point; they are not down very much from their all-time highs. After all, our economy is still strong. There are plenty of companies that are doing well, growing, and producing record profits.

Investing in high-growth companies has always been accompanied by increased volatility. It just comes with the territory. It is also where most stock market profits have been generated. Overall allocation and diversification are the ways to mitigate the risk but still benefit. This is exactly how we at Riverplace Capital prepare for this. As always, keep perspective and stay steady my friends.
