Earnings season is upon us. Third calendar quarter results are being reported. It is still early. So far, only the big banks are in, and their reports were good. If the banks are doing well, it bodes well for the rest of the economy. After all, they are at the center of so much of it.
Expectations for earnings growth this past quarter are high. In general, they are expected to be up by around 27 percent from this time last year. That is amazing! It also explains how well the stock market has done. Remember, earnings are the most important factor in setting stock prices.
Recently, the stock market has been focused on Artificial Intelligence and its rollout. Hopefully, once more earnings are reported, the market advance will broaden out. Many companies in many other sectors are doing very well, too. The fourth quarter of the year is typically the strongest. So, it is reasonable to expect further gains. Stay steady my friends.
